Are you ready to win a stamp set? Are you ready for an AWESOME blog hop? This is the moment you've been waiting for!
First, we'd like you to take a moment to read about our Design Team Member Molly Dagg's process for making two cards from our new Dino Park stamp set.
I discovered my enjoyment of crafting for my wedding where a majority of the decorations were handmade. I bought a Cameo Silhouette and used it to cut out drawings that I would color in. My best friend then started encouraged me to try stamping. Not long after that, I joined the Kindred Stamp Creative Team. I am a big fan of the Jurassic Park series and dinosaurs in general, so when I saw this stamp set I was ecstatic. I made two cards to show everyone that I absolutely love.
The first card started with a base of green cardstock I got at Michael’s. I took some floral print scrapbooking paper as a backing as a jungle look for the dinosaur. I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink with my Mini Misti to stamp the dinosaur and paw prints. I love my Copic markers because of the versatility they give me (although I am still learning to use them and practicing every day). To color in the dinosaur, I used Copic G05 as a base and blended his belly with a G24 and accented its back with YR04 and colored the footprints. To make the “RAWR” text I used VersaMark Watermark ink to stamp the text and Inkadinkado Hot Pink embossing powder with a heat gun to solidify the powder. I picked hot pink as a pop of color in contrast to the nature colors of the rest of the card.
For the second card, I took a sillier, more humorous approach to it. I needed to figure out a fun way to use the “That is one big pile of shit” stamp. I decided to use ½ the car stamp like it was entering the “scene”, using the same tools and colors as before. I thought this was also a great time to use my poop emoji stickers I got at Michael’s for an added bit of fun. To color the car I went with a G05 green base, Y06 for the bumper and runner, E07 for the red accent, YR14 for the front light, and 100 (black) to accent the tire and dinosaur drawing on the car. To give the card something extra I used clear Wink Of Stella so the window is sparkly and Stampin’ Up Dimensionals to physically bring the Jurassic Park stamps to the foreground. I again went with a floral background paper from Stampin’ Up to match the Jurassic Park theme and a yellow base to tie in with the colors of the car.
